CLARIFICATION ON RULE 30-2-2
30-2-2: A student who is enrolled at the start of a season of sport must be a member of the squad for the majority of the scheduled varsity contests in order to be eligible for postseason competition.
This rule allows athletes that are a MEMBER OF THE SQUAD at any level to participate in postseason competition. An athlete becomes a member of the squad when they start practicing with the team.
Athletes must have been a MEMBER OF THE SQUAD for a majority of scheduled varsity contests; however, athletes do not have to participate in varsity contest to be eligible for postseason. Athletes that participate at the sub varsity level are eligible for postseason competition if they have been a MEMBER OF THE SQUAD for a majority of scheduled varsity contests.
This rule allows athletes that are hurt, sick, etc., to compete in postseason events if they were a member of the squad for a majority of varsity competitions. It also allows athletes that compete in sub varsity competition to compete in postseason.
Rule 30-2-2 may be found on page 15 in the KSHSAA Bowling Manual or page 46 in the KSHSAA Handbook.
