A THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
"Today is a new day. You will get out of it just what you put into it. If you have made mistakes, even serious mistakes, there is always another chance for you. And supposing you have tried and failed again and again, you may have a fresh start any moment you choose, for this thing we call "failure" is not the falling down, but the staying down."

Mary Pickford, film actress, 1893-1979

As a member school of the Kansas State High School Activities Association (KSHSAA), school student councils are also members of the Kansas Student Council Association (KSCA).

The KSCA, under the auspices of the KSHSAA, is designed to encourage the development of high school and junior high/middle school student councils in Kansas. This organization provides training and development of leadership skills for high school and junior high/middle school student leaders. Students develop and are taught to apply leadership and life skills. In addition, KSCA provides advisors with the opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences.

KSCA promotes programs that educate, inspire and direct members into a variety of leadership opportunities throughout life. These goals are accomplished by disseminating information for building effective organizations; recognizing individual and school achievements; promoting community service; providing positive, enthusiastic forums for networking and sharing ideas; and serving as a liaison to the National Association of Student Councils (NASC), which is under the direction of the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP).
