Unit Conferences

Purpose

KAY Unit Conferences, held during the winter months, are designed to focus on club leadership on the local level. The half-day conference gives students the opportunity to share project and program ideas, to develop leadership skills and to "put the spotlight" on youth in the community where the conference is held.

KAY clubs across the state are grouped geographically into clusters of 10-12. Clubs are invited to host based on a rotation list. The unit conferences take place between the Tuesday following Martin Luther Kings Birthday through the last Friday in February.

Who Attends Unit Conferences

KAY Unit Conferences are designed for club members who are willing to contribute, cooperate and bring credit to their club. CLUBS ARE LIMITED TO 25 STUDENT DELEGATES.

Theme

The theme for the 2009 Unit Conferences will be "Hooked on Leadership "

Fees

Fees are $2.00 per student delegate and sponsor.
