KAY Area Project

2009
          Area 1 –TO SHARE WITH MY FAMILY & FRIENDS (invite others to participate with KAY club in service projects)
          Area 2 –SERVICE (Collect Teddy Bears, bring to RC, then donate
          Area 3 –TO ENJOY FUN & LAUGHTER (Host “Fun Night”-games night,  comedy night,  
                           play Day, etc.)
          Area 4 - APPRECIATION (School appreciation projects)
          Area 5 - HEALTH (sell balloons to raise money for charity of choosing; release)
          Area 6 –CHARACTER (trash/re-cycling pick-up projects with kids)

2008
          Area 1 – TO ENJOY FUN & LAUGHTER (Fun activity with Sr. Citizens)
          Area 2 – HEALTH, RECREATION (Fishing Derby, proceeds to Cancer Research)
          Area 3 – TO TAKE THE LONG LOOK (Projects for those who provide service)
          Area 4 -  RECREATION (School activity/tournament to promote recreation)
          Area 5 -  SERVICE (CANcel school – Collect canned goods for food pantry-contest)
          Area 6 – APPRECIATION (Letters, care packages, etc. to Military Troops)

2007
          Area 1 – APPRECIATION (Recognize public servants)
          Area 2 – GIVE MYSELF TO A CAUSE (Disaster relief; Assist at nursing home)
          Area 3 – ENTHUSIASM  (Read to children)
          Area 4 – HEALTH (Collect stuffed animals & donate to hospitals)
          Area 5 -  SERVICE (“Crush Cancer”—collect cans for recycle & donate money)
          Area 6 – ENTHUSIASM (Children’s activities)

2006
          Area 1 – SERVICE (Community beautification)
          Area 2 – SERVICE (“Trick-or-Treat”, so people can eat)  
          Area 3 – SERVICE (Assist the elderly
          Area 4 – RECREATION ( Scavenger hunt with elementary students)
          Area 5 – SERVICE (Raise money for vaccinations)
          Area 6 – CHARACTER (Care cards & gifts to area hospitals & nursing homes)

2005
          Area 1 – HEALTH (Collect Teddy Bears, small stuffed animals for children in hospitals)
          Area 2 – RECREATION (community recreation activity of choosing)
          Area 3 – APPRECIATION (to emergency personnel-fire fighters, EMS, police, etc.)
          Area 4 – ENTHUSIASM (project to create enthusiasm in school, community)
          Area 5 – SERVICE (raise $ for victims of London terror attacks)
          Area 6 – SERVICE (project to benefit community)

2004
          Area 1 –  SERVICE (support troops in Iraq – letters, care pkg.)
          Area 2 – HEALTH (health related project of choosing)
          Area 3 – RECREATION (beautification/clean-up of rec. site)
          Area 4 – APPRECIATION (appreciation project at school)
          Area 5 – HEALTH (national/world health project)
          Area 6 – SERVICE (school service project)

2003
          Area 1 –  SERVICE: Collect pop tabs for Ronald McDonald House
          Area 2 – APPRECIATION: Project for the environment
          Area 3 – APPRECIATION: Project for local Board of Ed.
          Area 4 – RECREATION: Fun day of activities w/ elementary students
          Area 5 – LEADERSHIP: Leadership activity
          Area 6 – APPRECIATION: Project for Janitorial staff

2002
          Area 1 –  Habitat for Humanity (community improvement project)
          Area 2 – Unity Gathering (school/community raise money together)
          Area 3 – Project/activity involving younger children
          Area 4 – Community beautification project
          Area 5 – Activities for Sr. Citizens
          Area 6 – Wash fire trucks/write letters to 9/11 families

2001
          Area 1 – Hygiene project donation
          Area 2 – Monthly Random Acts of Kindness
          Area 3 – Project for grandparents
          Area 4 – Project with a retirement/nursing home
          Area 5 – Clean-up for a day – janitor’s day off, handyman, etc.
          Area 6 – Community project of choosing

2000
          Area 1 – Community trash pick-up & recycling day
          Area 2 – Penny war; donate money to an area recipient
          Area 3 – Raise money for area student with bone cancer
          Area 4 – Sprucing up community with children
          Area 5 – Service project for schools
          Area 6 – KAYS for kids – service project for/with children
