ADDITIONAL TEAM MEMBERS
Schools entering fewer than 6 golfers and then choosing to add members, must do so before noon on Friday preceding the regional tournament.
COACHES REMAINING ON SITE
Now that coaches may coach their athletes during competition, the KSHSAA Executive Board strongly recommends during the regular season, coaches remain on site for purposes of coaching, team supervision and to be available to assist the event manager as needed. The Executive Board discourages coaches from golfing during competition.
CELL PHONE PERMISSION
In tournaments where markers are not used (non-post-season) players with known medical conditions will be allowed to carry a cell phone in their golf bag (written permission from KSHSAA will be required in advance). The phone would only be allowed to be used in case of an emergency. If the phone is taken from the bag or used for anything other than the known medical condition, the player would be disqualified.
OUTSIDE FOOD & DRINK
Schools and spectators are to honor Golf Course guidelines regarding outside food and drink.
GUIDELINES FOR COACHING (ADVICE) IN GOLF COMPETITION
The following changes were made:
8.While on the course during competition, coaches may not use electronic communication devices or motorized golf carts. Coaches may use golf carts during regular season competition while coaching/supervising their players. Due to cart availability, coaches may not use golf carts during post-season tournaments.
9. Coaches may not use electronic communication devices to coach/offer advice during
competition.
