Three Person Mechanics

Many questions have arisen concerning correct mechanics for the three person crews when the calling official does not stay tableside.  In the rules meetings officials were told there was to be no long switch on a foul in the frontcourt going to backcourt with no free-throws.  The following slides are intended to help clarify the procedure outlined by the NFHS for this situation and others.  When the new basketball manual is printed next year the appropriate diagrams will be included, until then use this as a reference.
